twenty four

Welcome to my television update. I have been watching less of the boob tube lately, but with the new crop of episodes all starting up, I can feel myself being sucked back in.

First off, 24, was really pretty awesome last night. I haven't been a diehard fan of this show at all, but after the football game I decided to sit and watch because of all the great things I heard about this big season opener. I can't say that I'll watch it religiously, but the two hours I watched last night were shocking and suspenseful and put me on the edge of my seat for tonight's episode.

Be that as it may, I love awards shows. I want to watch the Golden Globes tonight because this year I've actually seen some of the movies/television shows that have been nominated. I'm really a sucker for all that glitz and glamour of Hollywood. What will Reese Witherspoon be wearing? I don't know, but I can't wait to find out.

So Grey's Anatomy came back last night, and it was delicious. I'm absolutely hooked on that show because of the hot doctors, witty dialogue and soap-opera-ish tendancies.

I'm torn about Thursday night because The O.C., Earl, and Beauty and the Geek all come on at 9. What's a girl to do? O.C. = guilty pleasure. Earl = laugh out loud pee in my pants funny. Geek = makes me laugh, makes me cry. It's a toss up.

American Idol starts this week and I'll be addicted as much as I don't want to be.

And Veronica. Why do you make me wait like this? I almost can't take it anymore. Come back soon. And bring Wallace with you for crying out loud. And start solving the mystery.

Last but not least, a little excerpt from my latest issue of EW, in which Stephen King poses a series of unanswerable questions, the most intriguing of which follows:
If Veronica Mars is so cheap to produce (compared, say, to the per-episode budget of a show like Lost), how can it be so good? And how come budget seems to have so little to do with the relative merit of TV shows? For that matter, why is Veronica Mars so good? It bears little resemblance to life as I know it, but I can't take my eyes off the damn thing.
