oh, happy labor day

It was unfortunate to learn that my buddies spent the weekend drinking in the beer tent at the Labor Day Fair. No, I didn't run into them. My mother did. I'm at home in NC playing house, abstaining from alcoholic beverages, and trying to remain cheerful while my house is in a state of renovation.

The beer tent run-in reminded me of one I had with my mother a few years back. She learned then that H-spo had given me her "lost" driver's liscense as a birthday present. Funny thing was, although I decided to use my fake ID to get into the tent, I don't think I even bought a beer. Oh, the days of being young and carefree! Here's to another day.

mom called me frantically to say that she invited dashiell to the wedding and was that ok. i said, dude, relax, he is on the original invite list. dashiell should feel priviledged and mom (dude) should relax. just kidding about the priviledged part. ha.

oh. and this whole interaction was the result of the good old labor day fair beer tent.

mmmmmm. beer tents. one drawback of being a young mother/homebody is that I haven't partaken in the beer tent extravaganza as much as a human should. I guess I still have a whole world of beer tents out there to explore someday when the children are grown and off to college and the husband and I are touring the country in a winnebago.

I didn't realize she was loopy. She did tell me that Aunt Mary and her were talking (post extravaganza) and my mom said "there were a lot of people in the beer tent" and aunt mary said something like "yeah, especially if you were seeing double." so I guess she was going a little heavy on the coors light. oh mom.
